Alpaca walking is great for those of you wishing to try an activity of a different nature, that takes you away from the hectic hustle and bustle of urban life. Your experience will begin with a health and safety briefing along with some alpaca facts, before demonstrating how to lead your alpaca. Once you have been partnered up with your new alpaca chum, your trekking escapade will begin with plenty of time for pictures and alpaca selfies!

WHEN SHOULD I ARRIVE

Lateness - For all experiences we run a strict policy with regards to latecomers. You MUST be checked in at the house 10 minutes before your experience start time. We recommend you arrive at Cae Glas Camping 10 minutes before your experience begins to avoid disappointment.

All experiences start on time and it is essential that you are signed in and ready to start your experience on time. The experience starts with a health and safety briefing and it is for this reason we are unable to accept latecomers in any circumstances. We will be unable to reschedule or refund your experience after this point.

When bringing young children, adults must feel confident that their child can walk the whole distance of this experience. We cannot allow you to carry your child as you must have both hands on the rein of the alpaca at all times.

WHAT SHALL I BRING

Suitable clothing and footwear (sun cream and hats for sunny days, waterproofs and wellies for wetter days). Small change is always handy if you wish to purchase alpaca feed (£1 per bag)

This experience is a physical activity which involves walking up hills and over uneven terrain. You must be capable of walking at a pace that keeps up with the rest of the group without putting a strain on your health so please consider this before attending the experience.

Every paying ticket holder attending the experience must walk with an alpaca. This includes all ages and abilities. We cannot allow spectators on the experience.

If you’re pregnant please be aware that we are a working farm with live animals. We therefore have natural bacteria and parasites which in some circumstances may be harmful to a pregnancy. If you choose to come to our farm or participate in an experience we recommend you do not touch pregnant sheep or lambs and thoroughly wash your hands after being around any of our other animals, especially before consuming food.
